Back in Boston after 4 months with my daughter in Seattle who nursed me back to health after some surgery. ( went to the same cancer center as Jon Lester with same results!!!!!!
So after taking Amtrak clear across America ( believe me eastern Montana and North Dakota are BORING) I arrive at South Station to see this sign.
Why would this train line even be programmed into the new boards????? ( and the date is just a little off too )
Nice to see nothing has changed

I suppose the train could use the spur track that connects Allston with Cambridge and somehow get to Fitchburg.
Good point however. Why is this even programmed into a sign at South Station?
I think the number of the train may be a hint at what's going on here.
I also like how it comes back to Porter after its trip west.
Also, Gardner? No commuter train has gone there since 1987.
Jim Kane needs to tell the truth. The picture he posted has been photoshopped. the sign says track 6 but at South station today the pole to the right of the sign is between track 4 and 3. (notice the rectangular hole on the pole its not there in real life) Also the railing directly behind the sign is not painted red and hasn't been for a couple of months.
another interesting irregularity involves the space between Gardner and Porter-Cambridge those gaps don't exist on the LED matrix, they're all spaced evenly.
I also noted that the time is different between the two displays and it should be safe to assume that the date and time are set through the network.
Too many discrepancies, Fitchburg train 420 doesn't make a lot of the stops listed nor does it depart at 12:45pm.
At least 01/04/2000 is a Tuesday.
